So, you've rented 'Kill Your Idols', the rockumentary of 30 years & 13 bands, now do yourself a favor and rent 'Llik You Idols'...a shocking look at the fucked-up'd underbelly of the New York film noir/ music scene. Now, let me warn you, this ain't no 'feel-good' flick and it isn't going give you 'the warm fuzzies' either, but you should probably try to sit through it, none the less...after all, for every success story, there's always a trail of bodies.
Now, let's see what the 'suits' over at NetFlix have to say: A definite important Director Angélique Bosio captures the nihilist, sexually charged furor of the 'Cinema of Transgression', a 1980s underground movement defined by the low-budget 8mm films of a group of New York City artists, such as Richard Kern and Nick Zedd. In addition to film excerpts, photos and performance clips, this documentary features interviews with both filmmakers and their No Wave musical counterparts, including Thurston Moore and Richard Hell.
