The Essence-The Cure Coverband

The Netherlands brought forth one of the greatest Cure coverbands...that never was a Cure coverband. The Essence busted quietly onto the scene. Stepping in at the point in the Cure's career when they were struggling. They were just about to release some tragically pop albums. They were going to break up, for the first time and The Essence were about to save the day...for me, at least. I was head over hills in love with the Cure and their music. I was not prepared to be Cure-less. They were the Cure's doppelganger. The Essence picked up the flag, writing and performing the Cure's music...if the Cure had actually written and performed it, that is and marched dutifully onward.
