Sonnenzimmer Test Prints

Ex-Bird Machine stable-mates Nick Butcher & Nadine Nakanishi make up the Chicago based print making duo better known as Sonnenzimmer. On their own, Sonnenzimmer's prints are highly sought after by flatstock collectors worldwide, but Test Prints? Hells bells, yes..and there isn't anything I love more than a Test Print. So, do yourself a favor, roll on over to their site and get some, while they still last.

BEN JAVENS: EYE SPY A SMASHING GOOD ILLUSTRATOR

If Eames era, Scandinavian-styled iconography wets your whistle, then friends, Ben Javens is your man. An incredibly talented illustrator from England, whose lighthearted print work at times, channels the spirit of one the of the greatest designers of the 20th Century, Mr. Alexander Girard.

ROY VILLALOBOS for ¡ALTO ARIZONA!

While walking down Pilsen's 18th Street (Chicago), I peeped in a shop window & saw a poster by local artist Roy Villalobos...with its strong, 3-color, stencilized graphic in protest of Arizona's SB1070.

BRAINSTORMs 'SAILORS DELIGHT' POSTER

Brainstorm Print & Design hail from New Jersey and they've got a killer collection of work under their hats. Their work is humorous and on point. Not over conceptualized. Not uptight. I am absolutely flippin' out over their 'HELLO' print (these babies are sold as a 5-piece grouping). Brainstorm has taken something as lame & generic as a HELLO name tag and doodled the likenesses of 5 of the most important artists of all time.
