BARRY McGEE X CINELLI UNICANITOR SADDLE COLLAB

Cinelli has teamed up once again with Barry 'Twist' McGee. This round, they are slated to drop a Cinelli Unicanitor x McGee collab. The saddle is set to hit the streets in 2011.

"Unicanitor was the first plastic-bodied saddle in the story of cycling. 2009 marked the return of the legend. The dimensions and the form are the same as the original, but small upgrades have been made to the design; the rails have been updated and the plastic shell has been improved with modern techno polymer know-how to improve both comfort and durability..."

Barry McGee: The Oakland Museum of California

Barry McGee was commissioned to do an installation for The Oakland Museum of California. The wall-sized masterpiece is of what has become classic McGee: brightly colored, 3D geometric shapes & patterns, peppered with text & his 'Fong-tastic' characters...all perfectly puzzled together.

BARRY McGEE aka TWIST X THE GAP X SFMoMA COLLAB

The Gap, yes, The Gap have teamed up with SFMoMA to celebrate their 75th anniversary and to kick it off proper, they've hooked up with 9 artists...releasing limited edition t-shirts. You can either boogie over to SFMoMA's website or to select Bay Area Gap stores to get yours.

"Gap and SFMOMA are proud to celebrate the museum's 75th anniversary with limited-edition T-shirts designed by inspiring artists. A lauded cult figure in a bicoastal subculture that comprises skaters, graffiti artists, and West Coast surfers, McGee was born in 1966 in California, where he continues to live and work. In 1991 he received a BFA in painting and printmaking from the San Francisco Art Institute. His drawings, paintings, and mixed-media installations take their inspiration from contemporary urban culture, incorporating elements such as empty liquor bottles and spray-paint cans, tagged signs, wrenches, and scrap wood or metal. McGee is also a graffiti artist, working on the streets of America's cities since the 1980s, where he is known by the name "Twist"."

mindthegap, the inaugural exhibition of Prism, highlights the works of Philip Frost and Barry McGee, two artists whose diverse output includes graffiti, film, sculpture, painting and large-scale interactive installations. mindthegap is curated by P.M. Tenore, founder of RVCA, the Artist Network Program and publication ANP Quarterly.
